| Amity Township, PA – September 6, 2025 A heartwarming act of service brought the Amity Fire Company and the New Ridge Response Team together this weekend, as volunteers from both organizations worked hand in hand to clean up the overgrown yard of a local Vietnam War veteran. The initiative, which took place Saturday morning, which aimed at assisting an Amity Township resident and Vietnam veteran. Assistant Chief Austin Mora called the collaboration “a perfect example of neighbors helping neighbors. “It’s more than just cleaning up a yard — it’s about showing respect and gratitude for the sacrifices he made.” The New Ridge Response Team brought in equipment, including chainsaws, brush cutters, and a dump trailer, while the fire company provided manpower. Together, the teams cleared fallen branches, trimmed back hedges, and mulched flower beds. By early afternoon, the yard had been transformed — and so had the spirits of those involved. We'd like to thank New Ridge Response Team for the opportunity to work together on this project! |
