Amity Township Emergency Services recently welcomed members of the Berks County Station 2 Search and Rescue (SAR) Team for a special overview of their capabilities and operations.

The presentation gave Amity Township responders a closer look at how the highly trained SAR team supports emergency incidents across Berks County, including missing person searches, technical rescues, and large-scale disaster responses. Team members discussed their specialized equipment, deployment procedures, and how they coordinate with local fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies during emergencies.

The overview also highlighted how the SAR team can be requested, what resources they bring to an incident, and how they integrate into an existing incident command structure. This information helps ensure faster, more effective responses when critical situations arise.
