November 15, 2023

Tonight during the monthly Township Supervisors Meeting Amity Police Chief Jeff Smith had the opportunity to swear in 10 new Fire Police Officers for Amity Township. Fire Police play a vital role during incidents. Their main role is to keep the scene safe and secure while law enforcement and fire crews operate. They have limited police power to enforce traffic control, crowd control and scene security. All 10 members attended a 16 hr course which taught them the basics on all three of their primary functions.

Please if you see them out on the roadway obey their instructions and use caution while moving through a scene. Congratulations to our new officers!
